Naturalization refers to the process of conferring citizenship upon a person after birth. This is the process through which most eligible lawful permanent residents become citizens of the United States. The Bae Law Group counsels clients individually to ensure proper naturalization filings and successful citizenship interviews.
In order to file for Naturalization, the applicant must meet some basic requirements that include permanent residence and continuous physical presence in the United States for a period of five years; good moral character; English fluency; and an understanding of United States history and government.
While the Naturalization application can be a relatively simple application, issues such as a criminal record, extended trips outside the United States, and failure to register for selected service may cause problems with the present issues.
The Bae Law Group reviews each application in great detail to ensure all appropriate measures are taken in the filing of Naturalization applications. Clients are asked to provide great detail regarding their background and residence in the United States to confirm that they are eligible for citizenship. When necessary, we counsel clients on remedies to any problems that may cause a bar to citizenship and apply for relevant waivers. We also provide analysis of eligibility for and filing of any I-131 Re-Entry Permit and/or N-470 Application to Preserve Residence for Naturalization Purposes. |
